Mill Ruins Park opened on Oct. 1, 2001, to celebrate the history of 19th-century ruins that were once mills and powered by St. Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River.
At the time, flour became what put Minneapolis on the map, as it was exported around the nation and the world. The Minneapolis mills and canals made up the largest direct-drive, water-powered facilities in the world. The historic tailrace canal carried water from the mill turbines back to the river.
Mill Ruins Park is situated in the Mississippi Mile, which covers both sides of the river and encompasses landmarks such as Boom Island, Nicollet Island, Historic Main, and Hennepin Bluff with many recreation opportunities.
Mill Ruins Park is located in downtown Minneapolis between West River Parkway and the Mississippi River at St. Anthony Falls. When traveling there, exit off I-94 at Riverside Avenue or Cedar and head east to West River Parkway.
I don't think Bill should be able to play anymore, he cheats and it's totally not fair. I was just down there a few weeks ago to check out the 35W Bridge Collapse. I never even knew there was such a place. I think I started longer at the old mill.
It is actually a cool little park right next to the Stone Arch Bridge on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. If you are ever in the area it is worth a look (park at the lock and dam visitor lot and walk down the hil, best part is that lot is free). While you are there see if the Lock & Dam visitor center is open, it is pretty cool too.

Wow, I was going to guess somewhere in Italy or Greese - as Jeff and I have been talking about them, and they are full of ruins...
That is really cool to have a place like that here in the cities...
Jeff.... is Bill right?
Bill is right.
